Is it so terrible for one human being to "consider the interests" of another human being, regardless of their nationality? Patriotism is a dangerous thing if it continues to lead people to the conclusion that some types of people matter more that others. The same issue that has led to racism, antisemitism, and homophobia. Not to mention, a closer reading of some of the documents of our founding fathers shows that many of them (though not all) were agnostic at best and ALL of our founding fathers believed in a strict separation between church and state. Allowing a god of any type to factor into political dealings would be more than reprehensible.

Drew, I take major issue with the last sentance of your editorial on Palin: "A logical (not supernatural) approach to diplomacy is essential to achieve a state of global hegemony that considers the interests of every nation."<br><br>Have you read the Constitution of the United States? The job of Commander in Chief is to protect the citizens of this country, not to work to consider the interests of every nation. The founding fathers fused poltical and religious theory, and believed that their lives were in God's hands-why is it so hard to hear that from Palin?

Age is not, in of itself, a credential. Did a college-aged man writing on a university newspaper website come as a surprise to you? How about a counterargument instead of an (ironically) juvenile dismissal?

I remember when I was 20 and thought I knew everything. Spend 5 or 10 years in the real world, Drew, then get back to us, okay?
