From the Editor’s Desk
As media adapt to the constant change of Internet use and readability so must print publications—The Keystone is no exception. As a college newspaper, the staff is hardened with the knowledge of running a small, yet potentially important voice of the campus. As a medium of KU, The Keystone needs to be able to evolve along with the forever-changing mass media.
Together, the staff of The Keystone is striving to produce a publication that contains intelligent, stimulating news coverage and be a forum for campus conversation.
In this effort we are undergoing changes to our Web site, as well as becoming active on Facebook and Twitter to keep you, our readers, as informed as possible.
The newspaper has also undergone many modifications throughout the past year. Some changes proved more difficult for the staff, whereas some were a simple — while always rewarding — experience. Possibly because of a driven staff, we want the campus community to be proud and actively involved in the evolution of The Keystone.
This semester, the paper is bigger and in full color while we attempt to portray a more professional, collegiate publication. We are incorporating student, faculty, and staff views and stories into the paper. We are adding international and PASSHE news, as well as classifieds, and we would like to combine opinions from all variations of our readers.
With this being said, The Keystone staff would like to invite all students, faculty, and university staff alike to participate in the affairs of The Keystone. We hope that everyone from downtown to the dorms lends his or her voice and stories in an effort to supplement the communication and content we publish.
