From what I understood this was mostly pushed by the record labels, they wanted more variable options for pricing their music. But what it turns out to in the end is that the customer is paying more for current music. I really wonder if this is going to make the record labels any richer or if the backlash is going to be too big and people will just stop buying songs. Somehow I think it’s the latter…
